It supports safe and efficient operations by ensuring equipment performs as designed. As an HVAC Refrigeration Technician, you will perform the following duties:Preventive Maintenance: Perform scheduled maintenance on HVAC systems, with emphasis on gas-fired units and related equipmentSystem Calibration: Clean, test, and adjust pneumatic and electronic controls, sensors, and actuatorsPerformance Monitoring: Evaluate equipment to identify issues that affect system efficiencyAirflow Management: Adjust dampers, valves, and related components to maintain proper air and water flowTechnical Diagnostics: Troubleshoot malfunctions, assemble and disassemble units, and test systems for proper functionElectrical Work: Repair controls, install wiring, and ensure compliance with electrical safety codesWork Schedule and Additional Information:Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per weekWork hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.You will receive further communication regarding this position via email. Check your email, including spam/junk folders, for these notices.Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:Successful completion of the HVAC and Building Automation Technician trainee program (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); orThree years of experience in the maintenance, repair, and installation of HVAC and refrigeration systems, units, and equipment including one year working with commercial or industrial HVAC or refrigeration equipment and controls; orAn equivalent combination of experience and training which includes one year working with commercial or industrial HVAC or refrigeration equipment and controls.Special Requirements:You must be in possession of an active motor vehicle license.You must obtain EPA Universal Refrigerant Transition and Recovery Certification from an approved provider within 6 months of employment.Additional Requirements:You must pass a favorable National Crime Information Center (NCIC) screening for admittance to Fort Indiantown Gap.You must be able to perform essential job functions.How to Apply:Resumes, cover letters, and similar documents will not be reviewed, and the information contained therein will not be considered for the purposes of determining your eligibility for the position.
