Wire EDM Department Manager (Direct Hire)

Lead a skilled team. Run advanced EDM operations. Build precision tooling that supports manufacturers across the country.

We are seeking an experienced Wire EDM Department Manager to join our growing team. This is a direct hire opportunity with a stable, well-established American manufacturer specializing in precision metal stamping tools, dies, and machined components. If you enjoy leading people, solving complex manufacturing challenges, and working with advanced EDM technology, this could be the perfect next step in your career.

What You'll Do

• Lead and support the daily operations of the EDM and Quality Control departments.
• Set up, program, and operate Wire EDM equipment including Charmilles, Makino, and Fanuc machines.
• Inspect precision components using micrometers, calipers, CMMs, vision systems, comparators, and other inspection equipment.
• Ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule.
• Collaborate with Toolmakers, Machinists, and department leaders to meet production goals.
• Troubleshoot manufacturing issues and provide hands-on technical support.
• Oversee equipment maintenance and coordinate special projects as needed.
• Foster a positive, productive, and team-oriented work environment.

What We're Looking For

• Minimum of 3+ years of Wire EDM experience.
• Experience programming, setting up, and operating Wire EDM equipment.
• Leadership experience in a manufacturing or tooling environment preferred.
• Strong understanding of precision machining, inspection methods, and quality standards.
• Experience with metal stamping dies, tooling, or precision manufacturing.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work overtime or occasional weekends when needed.
