Inventory Clerk

About the Position The Inventory Clerk maintains inventory levels and accuracy in a distribution center. Responsibilities include reporting, physical inventory, system audits, and using the inventory management system to prepare and track materials and products for shipping and receiving demands to meet customer needs. The role may also involve product holds/releases, recalls, returns, and compliance with regulations such as food safety. Responsibilities Maintain perpetual inventory of materials and products and generate applicable inventory reports. Perform daily cycle count activities and inventory audits, and track and monitor all damaged product in inventory, providing necessary reports to leadership. Verify clerical inventory records against physical inventory counts; investigate and report discrepancies. Coordinate product recalls, holds/releases, and product infestation audits. Monitor pest control program if required at site. If responsible for quality functions, ensure the facility is inspection ready at all times (e.g., SQFI, FDA or other customer needs). Facilitate quality/regulated training and coordinate the site’s quality management program. Maintain the site’s quality management portal and draft/revise site SOPs as needed. Qualifications High School diploma or GED required; associate degree or two years of equivalent experience preferred. Minimum 2 years’ experience in a warehouse or distribution environment; industry‑specific (e.g., food grade) experience may be required. Familiarity with ISO requirements preferred. Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Strong attention to detail and ability to pass background and drug screening.
