Virtual Vocations Inc
Acquiring primarily for the fiction list, the full-time Senior Editor will publish 8-10 books per year, build relationships with literary agents and authors, and develop manuscripts while working closely with the editorial team in a remote environment. Key responsibilities Commission and acquire a range of titles with strong critical and commercial potential Develop and edit manuscripts at both structural and line levels Maintain publishing schedules and coordinate across departments in a collaborative manner Required qualifications 8+ years of book publishing experience or equivalent Highly developed editing and copywriting skills Extensive contacts in writing, journalism, and the agent community Deep engagement with the fiction landscape and market Familiarity with negotiating and contract language
