Designer - Tween Contemporary Sportswear

A Contemporary sportswear designer needed for the TWEEN market sizes 4-16. Directed to the Junior customer via department store channels. The collection combines trend-right sportswear, coordinated separates, fashion denim, novelty graphics, dresses, and feminine detailing designed specifically for today's tween customer. Inspired by dressy/contemporary fashion and social media trends, the collection bridges the gap between children's wear and juniors fashion while maintaining age-appropriate styling and exceptional value. The Fashion Designer will be responsible for designing and developing seasonal collections, from concept through production. This individual will identify emerging trends, create original designs, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver compelling products that meet customer and business needs. The ideal candidate has experience in girls' apparel, tween fashion, sportswear, or contemporary fashion categories and possesses a strong eye for trend, color, silhouette, and fabric development.

• The salary range for this role is $90-110,000.

Responsibilities:

• Design seasonal collections across girls' sizes 4-16.
• Develop fashion-forward dressy sportswear collections including
• Fashion top
• Coordinated set
• Dresse
• Skirt
• Pant
• Legging
• Outerwea
• Seasonal novelty programs
• Research market trends, color direction, silhouettes, fabrics, trims, and embellishments.
• Create mood boards, trend presentations, and seasonal color stories.
• Develop sketches, CADs, technical flats, and design packages.
• Partner closely with merchandising, sales, sourcing, and production teams throughout the development process.
• Attend sample reviews and fittings to ensure design integrity and proper fit.
• Collaborate with overseas factories and vendors during product development.
• Shop market regularly to identify emerging trends and competitive opportunities.
• Assist in managing development calendars and seasonal deadlines.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design or related field.
• 4-7 years of fashion design specifically in the Girls/Tween market preferred.
• Experience in girls, tween, sportswear, children's apparel, or contemporary fashion preferred.
• Strong understanding of the tween customer and current fashion trends.
• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
• Strong sketching, CAD, and presentation skills.
• Knowledge of garment construction, fabrics, trims, and product development.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
• Strong attention to detail and passion for fashion.
• Experience with graphic treatments, embellishments, knits and woven product.
