Welder – 2nd Shift – Abilene, KSLand Pride, a division of Great Plains Mfg, is seeking a 2nd Shift Welder for our Abilene facility in Abilene, KS.This position works Monday through Thursday, from 4:30 p.m. to 3:00 a.m., with overtime on Fridays, as required.Primary Duties and Responsibilities:Load fixtures and weld parts as requiredSafely use all tools necessary for the positionMaintain inventory accuracy at all timesRead blueprints and utilize AWS weld symbols as required for the positionConsistently achieve quality welds while staying on production scheduleFollow all Great Plains and OSHA safety regulations and wear prescribed safety and protective equipment.Other duties may be assigned that require additional qualifications, physical demands, and/or work environmentPreferred Skills and Qualifications:MIG welding experience and ability to pass weld test, as required.Ability to give strong attention to detail and stay on-task in a fast-paced environmentHave a good understanding of team concepts and be a strong team playerAbility to read blueprints and recognize AWS weld symbolsAbility to safely use hand and power tools and welding equipmentCapable of embracing a culture of Lean Manufacturing and willing to accept/implement changeAbility to follow all Great Plains and OSHA safety regulations and wear prescribed PPE as requiredGreat Plains Manufacturing, headquartered in Salina, KS, is a proud subsidiary of Kubota with more than 50 years as a Kansas leader in the design, engineering and manufacturing of agricultural implements, including seeding, tillage, and landscaping equipment.
