Laboratory Supervisor - Environmental Testing

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Laboratory Supervisor to support daily operations within our Environmental Laboratory in Conroe, TX . The ideal candidate is a collaborative and results‑driven laboratory professional with strong environmental laboratory expertise, proven leadership capabilities, and a passion for building high‑performing teams within a fast‑paced, accredited testing environment. This individual thrives in a dynamic operational setting, effectively manages shifting priorities, and serves as a key technical and operational resource for laboratory personnel, troubleshooting, workflow optimization, and environmental testing operations. What You’ll Do Provide day‑to‑day leadership, supervision, and operational support to laboratory personnel Assign, prioritize, and monitor laboratory workflows to ensure accurate and timely completion of testing activities Support staffing coordination, scheduling, training, coaching, and employee performance management Oversee laboratory operations, instrumentation, calibrations, preventative maintenance, and resource allocation Ensure compliance with laboratory quality systems, SOPs, accreditation standards, and regulatory requirements Review analytical data, laboratory records, and documentation for accuracy, completeness, and compliance Support troubleshooting activities involving instrumentation, analytical methods, and operational processes Monitor laboratory capacity, inventory levels, turnaround times, and operational efficiency metrics Participate in audits, investigations, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives Promote and enforce laboratory safety policies, PPE requirements, and environmental health and safety procedures Collaborate with laboratory leadership and cross‑functional teams to support operational priorities and objectives Perform additional duties as assigned Requirements What Makes You a Great Fit Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science, or related scientific discipline 3+ years of progressive analytical laboratory experience in environmental or regulated laboratory environments 2+ years of supervisory or team leadership experience within a laboratory setting Demonstrated experience with laboratory instrumentation, analytical testing methods, quality systems, and regulatory compliance Strong understanding of GLP, SOPs, quality assurance practices, and laboratory safety procedures Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and LIMS Work Schedule & Travel Full‑time onsite position based in Conroe, TX Flexibility to work outside normal business hours as needed to support operational demands Occasional travel may be required for training, audits, meetings, or operational support activities Our Commitment to Diversity and Inclusion At SPL, we believe that a diverse team is a strong team.
