Associate Principal Scientist - Formulation and Process Design

Associate Principal Scientist role focused on formulation and process design for oral solid dosage forms at a late-stage pharmaceutical development organization. The position combines hands-on experimental work with digital modeling and simulation to advance clinical and commercial drug products from laboratory to manufacturing scale.

Responsibilities

• Lead formulation design and development of robust oral solid dosage forms from laboratory to commercial scale
• Plan and execute lab-scale formulation and process experiments to support project milestones and decisions
• Define and optimize critical process parameters and integrate them into control strategies
• Apply modeling, simulation, and digital tools to enhance process understanding and direct experimentation
• Collaborate across multidisciplinary teams on technology transfer, risk assessment, and process validation activities

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering, biochemical engineering, or pharmaceutical sciences with 5-10 years industrial experience
• Demonstrated experience in oral solid dose formulation and development
• Background in late-stage product development, technology transfer, scale-up, and process validation
• Strong interest in applying modeling and simulation to pharmaceutical development
• Fundamental understanding of control strategy and risk management approaches
• Problem-solving capability with rational, data-driven decision-making approach

Compensation: $138,000-$207,000 base
