Site Safety Specialist (Renewables Construction - Nationwide Opportunities!)

Overview Responsible for assisting the Safety Managers in all safety‑related matters and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and corporate environmental, health and safety regulations. Oversees safety functions in the field necessary to support the company’s construction at an assigned job site. Conducts specialized safety trainings (fall protection, confined space, etc.), job safety analysis, workplace audits, and incident responses as needed. Location & Travel This is a traveling position, up to 100% of the time. You may be placed on any project site throughout the US. Projects last an average of 8‑12 months. The position includes a designated daily per diem in addition to base pay and allows routine travel home (rotation) from the jobsite. Responsibilities Coordinate and present safety training, including planning, documentation, and delivery. Training includes New Hire Orientation, Fall Protection, Confined Space, Lockout/Tagout, Respiratory, etc. Understand and apply OSHA regulations. Recognize and track hazardous situations on the job site and work with Safety Managers to mitigate risks. Conduct daily site walks to identify and document safety risks or discrepancies. Provide safety leadership to create enthusiasm and participation among management and craft workers, resulting in excellent safety performance. Gather details, provide input and review incident reports. Assist in the execution of the jobsite safety plans. Implement lockout/tagout procedures safely. Communicate with company management regarding safety matters. Collect drug screenings as needed. Assist the Safety Manager with incident investigations. Implement the site‑specific emergency response plan. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Education and Work Experience: High school diploma or GED required. Must obtain STSC within one year of position entry date. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Take reasonable care of your own and others’ health and safety, working toward the company’s Zero Injury principles. Functional computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. Type and write reports with accuracy and appropriate grammar. Strong written and oral communication skills. Knowledge of hazard recognition, record keeping, and injury management. Attention to detail and ability to recognize discrepancies. Ability to perform safety inspections ensuring compliance with company and OSHA standards. Working Environment Regular exposure to outside weather conditions. Frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts, high, precarious places, and extreme heat. Occasional exposure to fumes, airborne particles, and vibration. Noise levels are usually loud.
