Correctional Sergeant II (S) – Agency Adult Correction Division Position Number: 60071969, Grade NC08. Responsibilities Conduct shift line-up, make shift assignments, and inspect personnel to determine if they are physically and mentally capable of assuming an assigned post. Complete, review, and maintain time reports, duty rosters, leave schedules, performance evaluations, and administrative forms. Account for persons and funds to ensure all assigned equipment is operationally ready. Report or stay over during adverse weather events (mandatory). Qualifications High School or GED diploma and two years, six months of experience as a Correctional Officer, or two years of experience as a Correctional Officer II, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Eligible for certification by the North Carolina Criminal Justice Education & Training Standards Commission. Must meet Criminal Justice Standards requirements (12 NCAC 09G .0302). Pass a criminal background check. Produce a negative drug screening result. Successfully complete medical and psychological evaluations. Possess a valid driver’s license. Preferred Skills Knowledge of Facility Operations. Knowledge of Prisons’ Policy and Procedures. Salary Range $39,244 – $68,679. Benefits Health Insurance options. Retirement Plans (NCFlex).
