Operating Room Registered Nurse

Minimum Experience: 1 year; First-time travelers are welcome to apply.

Patient Population: Adults to Geriatrics

Certifications Required: BLS

General Skills and Work Setting Requirements:

• Main OR experience required for the following specialties: General, Neuro, Spine, Orthopedics, Robotics, Urology, Vascular, Colorectal
• Circulate and scrub experience is required.

Operational Details:

• Ratio/Census: 16 Rooms with an average daily census of 35.
• Unit Systems: Epic, Pyxis, 2 Davinci XI Robots.
• Scrub Color: Provided by the facility.
• Maximum Time Off (RTO): 7 days.
• RTO Blackout Dates: Spring Break (April 4th-12th).
• Weekend Schedule: 2–3 weekends per 8-week schedule, either in-house or on call.
• Floating: Rare, within the facility/scope of practice as needed.
• Call Requirements:
  • 7-8 calls in an 8-week schedule.
  • 1 weekend call and 1-2 weekend shifts.
  • Call shifts: C1: 7 p.m.–7 a.m. or C2: 7 a.m.–7 p.m.
  • Additionally, take 2–3 weekday night call shifts during the same 8-week period.
• Holidays:
  • If one major holiday falls within the assignment period, the traveler is expected to work it.
  • If two major holidays fall within the assignment period, the traveler is expected to work both.
  • If three major holidays fall within the assignment period, the traveler is expected to work two of the holidays.

Major Holidays:

• Memorial Day
• Independence Day
• Labor Day
• Thanksgiving/Black Friday
• Christmas Eve/Christmas Day
• New Year's Eve/New Year's Day

Compliance: Full compliance is required to start on time. If not compliant in time, there will be a two-week push back due to the bi-weekly orientation schedule.

Pre-Screen: Candidates will be reviewed clinically to determine fit. If the clinical review passes and meets all guidelines, the candidate will then be sent to the hiring manager for a final decision.

Locals: Locals are accepted at the same rate.

Note: The number of non-billable orientation hours will be determined by the length of the contract (e.g., 8 hours for an 8-week assignment; 10 hours for a 10-week assignment).
