The position is based in Huntsville, AL and requires onsite presence. The quality engineer responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following in the next section.Responsibilities to Anticipate:Verify product and process compliance with respect to contractual, technical, industry, AS9100 Quality Management System (QMS) requirements and internal policiesRegularly generate and publish Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ) metricsFacilitate and lead cross-functional team in failure analysis, Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) investigations, including identifying non-conformances, providing solutions, tracking issues to closure and leading Corrective Action Boards (CAB)Ensure identification, physical control, and disposition of non-conforming material and facilitate Material Review Board (MRB) when necessarySupport work instruction development and maintenance activities by reviewing work instructions, test instructions, auditing processes, and assuring configuration managementDevelopment and maintenance of inspection instructions, ensuring inspection instructions meet the technical data package requirements and meet production needsRegularly interface with Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA), Missile Defense Agency(MDA), and Navy RepresentativesDaily status meetings with the factory support, factory management, hourly employees, and internal stakeholders to manage issueConduct weekly meetings to help reduce cost of poor quality and facilitate timely red rack dispositionsundefinedQualifications You Must Have:Requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM), Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM)an two (2) years of experience in related Quality, Operations, Engineering or related disciplineExperience in supporting design and/or manufacturing processManufacturing process experience (assembly, inspection, test)Experience with engineering drawings, work instructions, Bill of Materials (BOMs), consumable materials control, process disciplines and tool controlThe ability to obtain and maintain an US security clearance prior to the start date (U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance)The ability to obtain and maintain an ATF (Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives) clearanceQualifications We Value:Existing DoD Secret ClearanceExperience with ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 Quality Management SystemExperience with AS9102 First Article Inspection RequirementsStrong interpersonal skills with experience in negotiating, having difficult conversations, and ability to work well with factory management, hourly employees, government partners (DCMA, MDA, Navy, etc.) and internal stakeholdersExperience in leading cross-functional teams in auditing process and product/process improvements in the factory or at suppliersExperience with AS9145 - Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP)Experience with Root Cause Analysis Tools- Sologic, Etq, and 5 WhysSix Sigma or ASQ CertificationData analysis; development and usage of actionable metricsLearn More & Apply NowPlease ensure the role type defined below is appropriate for your needs before applying to this role.
