Software Architect

Client is looking for a Software Architect - Consultant Why is this position open: The Citadel is hiring a Software Architect – Consultant to assist in a project upgrading a proprietary software, the Cadet Accountability System. Work Location: Role is 100% remote Required Skills 3+ years of experience with C# 3+ years of experience with Microsoft SQL 3+ years of experience gathering and documenting project requirements Preferred Skills Experience analyzing existing code and creating modernization plans Familiarity with 3rd party data integrations using REST API’s and SQL extracts Daily Responsibilities: Assess technical feasibility: architecture, scalability, and security of the current CAS system. Examine operational alignment: support for cadet workflows and Commandant, Academic, and Athletic departments. Review interoperability: integration with Banner, Canvas, My Citadel Portal, and health systems. Analyze user experience, adoption, and training needs. Evaluate economic feasibility: total cost of ownership (TCO) and ROI compared with alternative systems. Analyze exiting codebase and provide recommendations, timeline, and roadmap for modernization or replacement.
