Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Emergency Room/Med Surg Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12H Day/Night Rotate Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, TNCC, PALS Must-Have: - 2 years of RN experience - 6 months of Med Surg experience in the past year - 6 months of ER experience in the past year - Ability to function independently in the ER and in Med Surg unit with up to 5 patients - Must note if the clinician has ever worked previously - BLS and ACLS required before start - TNCC preferred - NRP preferred Description: This position requires a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Room and Med Surg specialties. The nurse will be scheduled for 36 hours per week with 12-hour shifts. There will be a requirement to work every other weekend and holiday. Three call shifts are required within the 13-week contract. The nurse will float between the ER and Med Surg units as needed. The typical bed size for this unit is 25. The standard nurse to patient ratio in Med Surg is typically 3 to 4 patients per nurse, depending on census and acuity. Navy scrubs without logos are required, and a white lab coat or white undergarments can be worn. Training includes EPIC Computer training, one day of ER training, and one day of Med Surg training. The cancellation policy allows for cancellations up to 12 hours every 13 weeks. The charting system used is EPIC.
