Registered Veterinary Technician Shift Lead Location: Parker, CO Pay range: $25.89 - $37.40 /hour. ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES Actively recruit new clients by promoting hospital services, Optimum Wellness Plans, preventative care and pet health needs. Manage routing the flow of clients and pets to ensure superior client care and maximum productivity of the veterinary medical team. Provide professional, efficient and exceptional service at all times, including encouraging hospital visits, welcoming clients and pets, ensuring they are comfortable, educating them about their pet's health, performing or preparing procedures that do not require veterinarian assistance, completing preparatory work, and monitoring hospitalized or surgical pets. Perform veterinary technician appointments under the direction and supervision of a veterinarian and in compliance with state law. Assist incoming clients by completing required documentation, entering pet information and history in the computer, using proper collars and tags for identification, and ensuring prompt service. Assist outgoing clients by providing all necessary instructions, information and invoices, dispensing prescription items, selling retail products and scheduling future appointments. Manage finances by maintaining accurate balances and using proper opening and closing procedures. Act as extra eyes, ears and hands for the veterinarian to ensure best quality pet care and maximize productivity. Obtain relevant information and history from clients and maintain proper and complete medical charts. Ensure safety of pets, clients and associates by using safe restraining techniques, following standard protocols, and maintaining clean, sterile and organized treatment areas. Assist with surgery as applicable. Train and mentor new paraprofessional associates. Quality check medical records, prescriptions, regulatory documentation, hospital cleanliness, and timeliness of doctor appointments. Utilize technical skills within state practice acts and conduct administrative functions as necessary. LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES Assist Practice Manager in developing an efficient, productive hospital team that provides the highest quality care and service to pets and clients while following all Banfield protocols, local, state and federal laws. Support Practice Manager in hospital labor management. Assist Practice Manager in selecting, training, and supervising the paraprofessional team. Assist Practice Manager in creating an environment where a team can deliver quality, efficient and effective veterinary care. Provide effective communication among associates, clients, hospital leadership and Central Team Support. Ensure all hospital associates adhere to Banfield dress and grooming guidelines. Prepare team on scheduled cases, assist with transfers, triage treatment board. Help identify bottlenecks and formulate solutions to remove barriers in medical operations. Collaborate with field leadership on client resolution decisions and invoice adjustments. Address equipment issues and inventory management. REQUIREMENTS Veterinary Technician Certification or Licensure (CVT, RVT, LVT, or LVMT) PREFERRED Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree from an AVMA accredited veterinary technology program.
