Unit: College of Humanities and Sciences Department: School of Life Sciences and Sustainability Duties and Responsibilities: The School of Life Sciences and Sustainability (SLSS) in theCollege of Humanities and Sciences at Virginia CommonwealthUniversity is recruiting a pool of applicants for the Summer 2026semester and beyond for possible adjunct teaching positions. TheSchool of Life Sciences and Sustainability houses programs inBiology, Environmental Studies, Bioinformatics, SustainableInnovation, Outdoor Leadership, and Integrative Life Sciences. TheSchool of Life Sciences and Sustainability (SLSS) seeks qualifiedinstructors to contribute teaching across these topics. Applicants admitted to the adjunct pool will be contacted if theircredentials align with our teaching needs in a given semester. Thispool will be accessed only when an opening arises. Your credentialswill remain active for one year from the date of this posting.After that time, if you are still interested in adjunct teaching,you must reapply. Please note that we are unable to hire applicantswho are not already in the pool. Minimum Qualifications: A Master’s degree (Ph.D. preferred) in Biology, EnvironmentalScience/Studies, Sustainability, Data Science, Bioinformatics, or aclosely related discipline from an accredited institution of highereducation.
