Registered Nurse - MedSurg Stepdown

This is a 13-week contract position, working 12-hour nights, with holidays and weekends as scheduled.

Job Description

The MedSurg Stepdown Unit is seeking experienced Registered Nurses to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have strong MedSurg Stepdown experience, including the ability to titrate drips and interpret cardiac rhythms. The unit provides care to post-surgical thoracic and medicine patients, requiring a solid foundation in monitoring and managing complex patient conditions.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to stepdown patients.
• Titrate medications per physician orders and monitor patient reactions.
• Interpret and document cardiac rhythms every 4 hours or as required.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Utilize the EPIC charting system for accurate patient documentation.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current RN licensure.
• ACLS and BLS certifications are mandatory.
• Strong MedSurg Stepdown experience is essential.
• Ability to interpret cardiac rhythms and monitor titratable medications (Cardizem, Amiodarone, Dopamine, Nitro, Esmolol, Heparin, Lasix).
• Experience with patient care in a stepdown unit is preferred.
