As Commercial Director, you will lead a specialized team, oversee servicing and remarketing activities, and bring together valuable agency and carrier perspectives. This on-site leadership opportunity offers the chance to shape department strategy while supporting the continued growth and effectiveness of a high-performing team in Torrington, Connecticut.\n\nResponsibilities:\n\n Lead and manage a commercial lines department of approximately six to seven professionals.\n Oversee day-to-day servicing activities to ensure responsive, accurate, and high-quality client support.\n Direct commercial lines remarketing efforts, including reviewing coverage needs and evaluating market options.\n Provide guidance, coaching, and performance management to department team members.\n Leverage both carrier and agency experience to strengthen workflows, client relationships, and placement strategies.\n Collaborate with internal stakeholders and senior leadership on departmental priorities and business objectives.\n Maintain strong knowledge of commercial property and casualty products, markets, and service standards.\n\n\nMust-Have Skills:\n\n Approximately 15 years of combined carrier and agency experience.\n Extensive experience handling commercial lines insurance exclusively.\n Strong knowledge of commercial property and casualty insurance.\n Proven leadership experience managing and developing a team.\n Hands-on experience overseeing commercial servicing and remarketing activities.\n Demonstrated ability to work effectively in both agency and carrier environments.\n Commercial Insurance Consultant (CIC) designation.\n\n\nNice-to-Have Skills:\n\n Willingness to pursue the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designation.\n Experience improving departmental processes and operational efficiency.\n Strong communication and relationship-management skills.\n Experience partnering with senior leadership on commercial insurance strategy.\n Ability to work successfully in an on-site team environment.\n
