Auto Body Technician / Painter (Apprentices with experience welcome) – Hanson Automotive, Iowa City, Iowa

Hanson Automotive is a well-established, growing auto body and collision repair shop in Iowa City looking for a skilled Auto Body Technician / Painter to join our team. We are a PPG-certified shop that uses high-quality PPG Environment Waterborne paint and pride ourselves on delivering top-tier, factory-like finishes.

We are open to both experienced technicians and motivated apprentices who want to learn the trade. If you’re dependable, take pride in your work, and want to grow with a solid local shop, we want to talk to you!

Pay Range: $40,000 – $70,000 per year (depending on experience and productivity)

What You’ll Do:

- Disassemble vehicles prior to repair and reassemble vehicles after repair.

- Perform quality auto body repairs (metal work, filler, sanding, etc.)

- Mask, prep, and paint vehicles using PPG waterborne paint system

- Blend panels and achieve color matches

- Work efficiently while maintaining high quality standards

- Help keep the shop clean and organized

Preferred Qualifications:

- Experience in auto body repair and/or painting

- PDR (Paintless Dent Repair) experience is a big plus

- Familiarity with PPG paint products and waterborne systems preferred

- Valid driver’s license and good driving record

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team

- Strong attention to detail and pride in craftsmanship
