POSITION OVERVIEW

\n

You will draft pleadings and motions, run discovery, take and defend depositions, and argue in court, working alongside an experienced litigator who invests in your development. Whether you are newly licensed or have a few years of practice behind you, this seat offers meaningful courtroom experience and direct client contact.

Salary: Competitive based on experience, plus bonus for hours billed 

\n

Location: Carnegie, PA (in office)

\n

Schedule: Monday through Friday, approximately 9:00am to 5:00pm with flexibility on start and end times

\n

Employment Type: Full-time, direct-hire

\n

Billable Hours Requirement: 1300/year

\n

RESPONSIBILITIES

\n

\n
• Manage a litigation caseload from intake through resolution under the guidance of the department head
\n
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery requests and responses, and client correspondence
\n
• Conduct legal research and case analysis
\n
• Prepare for and attend depositions, hearings, mediations, and trials
\n
• Communicate regularly with clients by phone and in person, including delivering difficult updates with clarity and confidence
\n
• Coordinate with opposing counsel, courts, and support staff to keep matters moving
\n
• Track and record billable time toward a 1,300 hour annual target
\n

REQUIREMENTS

\n

Required:

\n

\n
• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school
\n
• Licensed to practice in Pennsylvania, or a recent graduate awaiting Pennsylvania bar results
\n
• 0 to 5 years of litigation experience
\n
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
\n
• Confident, direct phone presence with clients
\n

Preferred:

\n

\n
• 1 to 3 years of litigation experience
\n
• Small or mid-size firm background, with personal injury or general civil litigation a plus
\n
• Courtroom, deposition, or trial experience
\n
