Job Description
Step into a meaningful educational environment near New Orleans as a contract Special Education Teacher, for the 2026-2027 academic year. This role provides the opportunity to make a significant impact on students’ lives in a supportive school setting, working collaboratively with other professionals and district staff committed to student success.
Qualifications and Experience:
Must hold an active Louisiana DOE Certification, with Special Education endorsement
Previous experience in special education preferred
Ability to pass district-specific drug screening and fingerprinting, in addition to standard credentialing requirements
Commitment to maintaining current certification (no interim or temporary authorizations accepted)
Flexible, adaptable, and prepared to work with diverse student caseloads and age groups (details to be assigned)
Ready for immediate interview and onboarding; preference for candidates who are Louisiana-certified and available for the 2026-2027 school year
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver specialized instruction to meet individualized student needs
Collaborate with general education teachers, administrators, and support staff to create optimized learning plans
Track students’ progress, maintain accurate records, and communicate regularly with families and team members
Advocate for students while fostering an inclusive, respectful classroom environment
Implement IEPs and participate in team meetings as required

Contract position spanning from August 3, 2026 through May 27, 2027
Structured 35-hour work week: 7 hours per day with a 30-minute unpaid lunch
