Lead Teacher – Child Care Center

Early Resultz Daycare and Learning Center III – Suffolk, VA

Job Type: Full-Time

Pay: based on experience and qualifications

Position Summary

Early Resultz Learning Center is seeking a dedicated, energetic, and experienced Lead Teacher to join our team. The Lead Teacher is responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment while implementing age-appropriate curriculum and supervising classroom activities. The ideal candidate is passionate about early childhood education and committed to helping children develop socially, emotionally, physically, and academically.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement daily lesson plans and educational activities.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment.
• Supervise and engage children throughout the day.
• Monitor and document children's developmental progress.
• Communicate effectively with parents regarding children's growth and daily activities.
• Ensure compliance with all Virginia childcare licensing regulations.
• Guide and mentor assistant teachers and classroom staff.
• Foster positive behavior and encourage social-emotional development.
• Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Previous experience working in a licensed childcare center.
• Strong classroom management and communication skills.
• Ability to pass background checks and meet Virginia licensing requirements.
• CPR/First Aid certification preferred (or willingness to obtain).
