Bring your expertise in American Sign Language to support students in an engaging K-12 educational setting. As a Sign Language Interpreter, you'll play a vital role in facilitating communication for Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) students across one school site, with opportunities to serve elementary, middle, or high school levels depending on your interests and experience. This role is an on-site, full-time contract position based near Lehigh Acres, FL, running through the end of the current school year.

What You'll Need:

• Proficiency as a Sign Language Interpreter, comfortable supporting students in a school environment
• A minimum EIPA score of 3.0 or higher
• Ability to support students 1:1 and occasionally in group settings
• Completion of fingerprinting for Florida school districts (previously completed prints may be valid through AHCA Clearinghouse)
• Willingness to complete required background checks and obtain a JLA badge (processing may take up to 10 business days)
• Ready to work exclusively on-site; virtual assignments are not available
• Flexibility to work with a range of ages (elementary through high school) as caseloads require

Your Day-to-Day:

• Provide direct interpretation for DHH students in academic and social settings
• Collaborate with teachers, staff, and other interpreters to ensure student success
• Adapt interpretation methods to support a variety of classroom activities and individualized education plans
• Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate professionalism at all times
• Support both 1:1 and small-group interpretation needs, promoting full access to educational content
