JD Home Healthcare Direct Support ProfessionalThe Direct Support Professional is responsible for providing comprehensive personal care, guidance, and support to clients according to their specific needs. This position is also responsible for promoting client independence through appropriate role modeling, administering client's programs and goals, and ensuring client's personal needs are satisfied in a safe manner.Job Duties and Responsibilities:Assist clients in behavioral and personal care servicesAssist clients with activities of daily living according to clients' unique care plansAccompany clients on recreation and leisure activitiesImplement clients' plans as writtenIncrease clients' independence and involvement in their communityAbility to understand and implement a variety of Behavior Support Plans and Individual Service PlansAbility to track and chart data on a daily basis in compliance with company expectationsAbility to attend, assist, and engage in team meetings as neededRequired Qualifications:At least 18 years of ageHigh School Diploma, GED, or equivalentAbility to pass a background check with the MN Department of Human ServicesGeneral computer skills and knowledgeReliable transportation insured in the state of MinnesotaProof of insurance and current driver's licenseClear driving record (No DUI/DWI convictions in the past 5 years)Fluency in reading, speaking, and writing in the English languageDynamic communication skillsWorking cell phone with internet accessPreferred Qualifications:Experience working with individuals of varying needs and diagnosesCPR and First Aid certification
