About the Position

Job Opportunity – Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) Nurse – Western North Carolina**Start Date:** October 8, 2026**Location:** Asheville, North Carolina**Compensation:** Details provided to qualified applicants**Schedule:** 6-week rotating schedule with 3 weekend shifts per 6-week period; self-scheduling available; shift coverage for a 9-bed unit with 1:1-2 nurse-to-patient ratios (PICU) and 1:2-3 ratios (Step-down)**Highlights:**- Work in a prestigious Magnet-designated facility recognized as one of America's 50 Best Hospitals and awarded an "A" Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade- Provide critical care to pediatric patients in a 9-bed unit serving as the region's only children's hospital with a Level III NICU and pediatric emergency department- Self-scheduling flexibility with structured 6-week rotation- Utilize Cerner documentation system and Alaris pump technology- Perform advanced procedures including IV starts, central line care, hemodynamic monitoring, ventilator management, ICP monitoring, and trach care- Float opportunities to Pediatrics and NICU units for varied experience**Requirements:**- Minimum 1 year PICU nursing experience- Current RN license in North Carolina (or eligible for licensure)- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification required- Competency in pediatric critical care procedures: IV placement, catheterization, central line dressing changes, hemodynamic monitoring, tracheostomy care, tube feeding, and ventilator management**Why It's a Great Opportunity:**Join a nationally recognized, award-winning facility that represents the gold standard in pediatric critical care for the region.
