Medical Technician

Medical TechnicianHandles and resolves customer inquiries and complaints regarding laboratory results and test requirements.Maintains a safe and clean working environment, adhering to laboratory, hospital, and regulatory policies.Generates and reports results for accurate diagnoses and prognoses influencing patient care.Utilizes critical thinking and independent judgment to correlate and interpret data.Manages laboratory computer systems.Ensures accurate and timely result reporting, including communication and documentation of critical results.Compiles and reviews reports to ensure timely collection, processing, and testing of samples.Resolves unusual test orders by following up with caregivers, reference labs, or pathology.Participates in new associate and student training and orientation.Operates, maintains, and troubleshoots instruments, documenting activities.Completes required quality control and maintenance, recognizing variances and documenting corrective actions.Other duties as assigned.Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Biological, Clinical, or Medical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology from an accredited institution; ORBachelor's degree with:A minimum of 24 semester hours of medical laboratory technology courses; or24 semester hours of science courses, including:6 semester hours of Chemistry6 semester hours of Biology12 additional semester hours in Chemistry, Biology, and/or Medical Laboratory TechnologyAND completion of a laboratory training program, including one of the following:Completion of a clinical laboratory training program approved or accredited by ABHES or CAAHEP (training may be included within the semester hours above); ORAt least 3 months of documented laboratory training in each specialty in which testing is performed; ORSuccessful completion of a minimum 50-week official U.S. military medical laboratory procedures training program and currently hold or have previously held the military enlisted occupational specialty of Medical Laboratory Specialist (Laboratory Technician); ORQualified and served as high-complexity testing personnel in a CLIA-certified laboratory on or before April 24, 1995, and as of December 28, 2024, have continuously performed those duties without interruption.1+ year of related work experience [Preferred]$29.86 – $55.55This facility is an equal opportunity employer and complies with federal, state and local anti-discrimination laws, regulations and ordinances.
