Base pay range $120,000.00/yr - $135,000.00/yr Job Title: Clinical Manager Summary: Second management level within the Clinical Services Department. The incumbent supervises and manages programs and major service delivery activities, provides leadership and treatment coordination of mental health and rehabilitation services to individuals with mental illness and their family members across multiple clinical facilities. Applies advanced clinical knowledge and judgment to assure quality of clinical services, trains and consults with staff, oversees interns, and contributes to achievement of agency objectives. Responsibilities and duties Manages client service delivery of multiple behavioral health clinics by implementing and monitoring service delivery systems. Oversees quality and frequency of clinical services; provides coaching and feedback to clinical staff. Mentors in comprehensive assessments, case conferences, treatment planning, and strategic interventions to ensure quality service delivery. Provides clinical supervision and direct care services within the scope of practice. Delivers clinical training consistent with agency standards, practices, and policies; oversees staff, interns, and volunteers. Provides assessment and intervention in response to client crisis, including follow‑up and appropriate consultation; backs up staff in crisis responses. Orientates, consults, coordinates, and provides clinical leadership within the work team. Ensures service delivery—including assessment, crisis intervention, treatment, discharge planning and communication—meets client, family, and payer needs and reflects sound clinical judgment; reviews, evaluates, and signs documentation requiring LPHA signature. Completes clinical records and other required documentation per agency payer and regulatory requirements, using paper or computer technology. Participates in management of team/program discretionary resources to meet client needs. Provides on‑call coverage and participates in after‑hours rotation as aligned. Attends and participates in staff, program, agency, and community meetings and training as required. Provides backup coverage for Director of Clinical Services. Performs other duties as assigned. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with organizational policies and applicable laws, including hiring, discipline, and supervision of BHS I & BHS II staff. Duties include supervising the clinical services department, hiring, and progressively disciplining employees. Qualifications Education and Experience: Minimum of a Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW), Psychology, or Counseling (MA/MS). Must hold a clinical license in good standing with the Board of Behavioral Sciences or the Board of Psychology (e.g., LCSW, LMFT, LPCC, Licensed Psychologist). Preferred: Completion of Intern/Trainee Supervision or equivalent. LCSWs and LMFTs supervising interns must complete at least six hours of supervision training within the two‑year period preceding supervision. Knowledge and Skills: Ability to engage and communicate effectively with others; follow directions and work within a program structure. Proficiency in advanced written and oral presentations. Solid mathematical reasoning for statistical inference. Logical and clinical thinking for complex problem solving. Proficient with word processing, spreadsheet, accounting, payroll, internet, human resource and project management software. Certificates and Licenses: Licensed with CA BBS as LMFT, LCSW, or LPCC (acceptable license‑eligible candidates). Valid driver’s license meeting insurance underwriting requirements. Special Requirements Must obtain criminal records clearance per Title XXII licensing regulations, including FBI and DOJ clearance. Health screening by a physician, not more than one year prior to employment or within seven days after, must include TB clearance. Valid first aid card required. Must be physically capable of assisting in evacuations and providing first aid. Physical Requirements Regular driving for 4–6 hours daily; lift or move up to 30 pounds; stand, use hands, talk or hear; walk, sit, reach with hands and arms. Occasional climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, tasting or smelling as needed.
