About the Opportunity

Phyton is a founder-led talent solutions firm with deep roots in the financial services sector. The firm has built long-standing relationships across investment banking, broker-dealers, hedge funds, fintech, and other financial institutions, with many client partnerships spanning 20+ years .

As the business continues to grow, they are looking for an experienced full-desk Technology Recruitment professional to help rebuild and expand their Technology practice.

This is a senior-level opportunity for an established agency recruiter who can operate independently, build credibility with senior clients, and own complex Technology searches from intake through placement.

The ideal hire may come from a full-desk contingency, retained search, or recruitment leadership background. For the right individual, there is significant opportunity to help shape and ultimately lead the Technology practice.

What You’ll Do

For leadership-level hires, help build, mentor, and grow the Technology recruiting team over time. (This includes building or bringing a book of business)

• Lead full-desk searches across senior-level Technology positions, primarily within financial services organizations
• Develop and grow long-term relationships with candidates and clients
• Identify opportunities to deepen existing client relationships and grow accounts
• Own both the client-facing and recruitment delivery components of the desk.
• Lead detailed intake, calibration, and search strategy conversations with clients
• Independently manage searches from initial briefing through candidate delivery, interview process, offer, and placement
• Recruit across Technology functions supporting front-office and middle-office environments
• Leverage an established client base and existing pipeline supported by a dedicated sales team
• Support the continued development of the firm’s retained search offering

What We’re Looking For

Required

• 8–10+ years of Technology recruiting experience
• Strong agency/contingency full-desk recruiting experience
• Demonstrated success owning both the client relationship and recruitment delivery sides of a desk
• Strong track record managing senior-level Technology searches
• Experience recruiting at the VP, Director, Managing Director, or C-suite level
• Strong client relationship management and commercial instincts
• Comfortable operating in a performance-driven, commission-based environment

Preferred

• Proven new-logo business development experience, with a track record of prospecting, opening new client relationships, and converting them into revenue-generating accounts.
• Existing relationships within financial services or Technology markets
• Experience building or leading a recruiting team
• Strong business development and account management experience
• Experience recruiting across front-office trading Technology, middle-office Technology, infrastructure, engineering, data, cybersecurity, or related functions

Location

New York Metro Area

Candidates should ideally be able to work from the firm’s Downtown Manhattan office approximately 2–3 days per week .

Candidates commuting from Manhattan, Long Island, New Jersey, and surrounding areas are encouraged to apply.

Exceptional candidates in other major U.S. markets may also be considered.

Compensation

Base Salary: $100,000–$125,000 + uncapped commission

The firm offers a tiered, performance-driven commission structure with meaningful upside for successful billers.

Compensation will reflect the candidate’s experience, production history, leadership capabilities, and existing client relationships.

Interview Process

The interview process consists of three conversations:

1. Initial discussion focused on background, culture, and commercial alignment
2. Technology recruiting and market expertise discussion
3. Partner-level conversation focused on client relationships, commercial capability, and long-term fit
