This position will be available at the New Johnsonville Plant location in New Johnsonville, TN.The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following: Provide leadership, guidance, technical problem solving, training, and implementation support for permitting requirements and compliance at high hazard chemical operations. Permitting needs include those related to solid waste, wastewater, domestic water, stormwater, spill control, and air.Interface with all site employees, corporate resources, regulatory agencies, unit operations, and be an active member of the site leadership team.Work to improve systems, procedures, processes, individual capability, and ownership around environmental and process safety managementDevelop systems to manage environmental programs across the siteParticipate in and facilitate incident investigations as requiredReview regulatory briefs when related to EHS and anticipate impactUse a wide range of laboratory equipment, instruments, and perform calculations, preliminary analysis, and field monitoring and sampling. Ensure the accuracy, precision, and integrity of testing results by following approved testing methods including calibration and standardization.Create, evaluate, and upgrade job specific procedures as needed.Function as site leader for the ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Management System (EMS), including certification readiness and sustainmentOversee regulatory compliance, creating and implementing 1st party environmental audits and acting as a key participant in 2nd and 3rd party audits.The following is required for this role:Bachelor’s degree in a technical and or safety discipline3+ years experience in an environmental related fieldRegulatory based environmental knowledge, including knowledge of federal and state regulations, laws, and standards.Ability to anticipate, plan, develop, implement, audit, and improve sustainable processes in the EHS fieldAbility to work independently or in a cross-functional team environmentStrong multi-task/organization skills with excellent computer skills (Microsoft office i.e. spreadsheets, PowerPoint) and excellent oral and written communication skillsThe following is preferred for this role:5+ years of work experience in a role that has involved environmental permitting and compliance with state and or federal environmental programs (RCRA, NPDES, Title V)5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment with knowledge/experience of highly hazardous chemicals or equivalent military experienceRegulatory based environmental knowledge, including knowledge of federal and state regulations, laws, and standards and compliance with state and or federal environmental programs (RCRA, NPDES, Title V)Sound technical and regulatory based safety and process safety management knowledge, including knowledge of regulations, laws, and standards (specifically OSHA)Benefits:Competitive CompensationComprehensive Benefits Packages401(k) MatchEmployee Stock Purchase ProgramTuition ReimbursementCommuter BenefitsLearning and Development OpportunitiesStrong Inclusion and Diversity InitiativesCompany-paid Volunteer DayWe’re a different kind of chemistry company because we see our people as our biggest assets.
