OD Grinder

Machinist - ID/OD Grinding Melrose Park, Illinois, United States Primary Responsibility: Operate cylindrical grinding CNC machines for production purposes of miscellaneous rotary products as per customer specifications. Duties and Responsibilities: Ability to compute numbers, widths and angles of tools, micrometers, scales, and gauges and adjust tools according to customers specifications. Selecting, mounting and ability to dress grinding wheels. Adjust machine feed & speed, change tooling, or adjust machine controls when automatic programming is faulty or if machines malfunction. Use precision measuring instruments and hand tools to verify conformance of finished work pieces to specifications. Maintain cleanliness of equipment and work area. Wear proper PPE while in work areas of the shop. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to improvise. Perform routine maintenance on machinery Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Strong mechanical skills. Strong shop math skills. Must be able to use precision measuring instruments including micrometers and calipers. Familiarity with machine tools and equipment Ability to communicate and work well with others. Education/Experience: Must have High School diploma or equivalent. Must have previous CNC machining experience in cylindrical grinding or other related fields, or trade school diploma. Physical requirements: Ability to lift 35 lbs. on occasion. Ability to stand for extended periods 2 hour periods. Ability to work overtime as required. Pay Range $33 - $40 USD Maxcess is an equal employment opportunity employer.
