Responsibilities:

• Draw blood samples from patients across diverse age groups, including pediatrics and geriatrics, following established safety and quality protocols.
• Prepare specimens for laboratory testing, accurately documenting details and maintaining chain of custody when necessary.
• Explain procedures to patients, creating an environment of trust and confidence while ensuring a positive patient experience.
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe work environments in adherence to safety standards and confidentiality policies.
• Accurately record and manage patient information, ensuring privacy and compliance with healthcare regulations.
• Perform clerical duties such as data entry and specimen tracking as required, demonstrating strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

  Required Skills:

  • Proven phlebotomy experience with excellent skills in blood collection techniques across all patient age groups.
  • Ability to perform accurate, error-free work in fast-paced clinical environments.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain procedures clearly and compassionately.
  • Proficiency in keyboarding and data entry with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining a professional demeanor.
  • Flexibility to work varying shifts including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime as needed.

    Nice to Have Skills:

    • Phlebotomy certification (required in certain states).
    • Medical assistant or paramedic training.
    • Previous experience in customer service or retail healthcare environments.

      Preferred Education and Experience:

      • High school diploma or equivalent.
      • Minimum of 6 months’ professional phlebotomy experience required; over one year preferred.

        Other Requirements:

        • Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts.
        • Possession of necessary certifications or licensure, especially where mandated by state regulations.
        • Physical ability to perform blood draws, stand for extended periods, and handle specimens safely.
