Qualifications for RN Unit Manager:

Registered Nurse (RN) license

Knowledge of nursing practices, regulations, and long-term care standards

Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills

Ability to make clinical decisions and collaborate with the healthcare team

Organized with excellent time management and documentation skills

Responsibilities of RN Unit Manager:

Supervise and lead the nursing team to ensure high-quality resident care.

Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans with physicians, families, and staff.

Ensure compliance with state, federal, and facility regulations.

Oversee medication administration, treatments, and accurate documentation.

Monitor residents’ health and adjust care plans as needed.

Provide guidance, coaching, and professional development for nursing staff.

Foster teamwork and effective communication across departments.

Maintain proper staffing levels and assist with scheduling.

Respond to emergencies and coordinate appropriate interventions.

Support quality improvement, infection control, and compliance initiatives.

Participate in care conferences and family meetings to update and educate.
