Senior Project Manager - Water/Wastewater

I’m supporting an established engineering consultancy with the appointment of a Senior Project Manager to join its growing Water/Wastewater team in the Houston area. This is a client-facing leadership role for a licensed Professional Engineer with strong experience delivering municipal water and wastewater projects. The successful candidate will manage projects from planning and design through construction while supporting client relationships, business development, and the development of junior engineers. Responsibilities: Lead multidisciplinary municipal water and wastewater projects from initial planning through design and construction. Manage project scope, budgets, schedules, technical deliverables, and overall project performance. Deliver projects involving water and wastewater treatment plants, pump and lift stations, water distribution, wastewater collection, and related utility infrastructure. Prepare and review engineering plans, specifications, technical reports, feasibility studies, and preliminary engineering reports. Act as a primary client contact for municipalities, MUDs, utility districts, and other public-sector clients. Lead client and agency meetings and coordinate with regulatory authorities. Support proposals, SOQs, presentations, and broader business development initiatives. Provide technical oversight, QA/QC, and senior review of engineering deliverables. Mentor and support engineers and project staff while assisting with workload planning and project assignments. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related engineering discipline. Active Professional Engineer license in Texas, or the ability to obtain Texas reciprocity. Approximately 10+ years of progressive civil engineering experience. 5+ years of project management and design experience. Strong municipal water/wastewater consulting background. Experience with water and/or wastewater treatment facilities. Experience working with municipal, MUD, or utility district clients. Strong client management, communication, technical writing, and presentation skills. Experience supporting proposals, business development, and project pursuits is highly desirable.
