The selected candidate must have a current/valid Texas driver's license with a clean driving record. Purpose Provide financial and administrative support by processing invoices and payments, handling cash and check deposits, coordinating contractor onboarding for special events, managing event billing, and supporting purchase orders, contracts, and MOU administration. Responsibilities Process payments for all invoice types, using appropriate account information and account splits as needed. Receive, reconcile, and deposit cash and checks in accordance with university and departmental procedures. - Set up contractors for special events, including creating vendor records, establishing direct deposit information, and resolving contractor onboarding issues in collaboration with the Special Event Sergeant. - Process billing for all special events, including IDT and Letter Bill invoicing. Ensure communication with vendors is timely and professional. - Work with BFS and the Director of UTPD Staff Operations for all purchase orders, contracts, and MOU work. - Perform special projects and additional duties as assigned to support departmental operations, process improvements, and strategic initiatives. - Ensure communication with vendors is timely and professional. - Other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree - Accounting or related field. Two (2) years of governmental or commercial accounting. Experience in accounting, bookkeeping, financial administration, business operations, purchasing, or related administrative support functions. Experience processing financial transactions, invoices, payments, deposits, reconciliations, and maintaining accurate records. Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other standard office applications. Strong organizational, analytical, and customer service skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and communicate effectively with vendors, contractors, university partners, and department personnel. Ability to interpret and follow established financial and administrative procedures, maintain confidentiality, exercise sound judgment, and work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field. Experience working in higher education, governmental, public safety, or other regulated environments. Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash handling, account reconciliations, vendor onboarding, contractor payments, event billing, purchase orders, contracts, memoranda of understanding, and financial reporting. Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including reporting, formulas, and data analysis. Demonstrated experience coordinating special projects, implementing process improvements, and providing professional customer service to a variety of stakeholders. Driving Required This job requires a class \"C\" operator's driver's license. The applicant selected must provide a current three year driving record from the current state of residence. If not currently a Texas resident, a Texas driver's license must be obtained within 30 days of becoming a Texas resident.
