Forward Deployed Front-End Engineer - Autonomous Systems Control (React, 3JS)

The Role

We are seeking a Forward Deployed Software Engineer to join a newly formed team focused on developing advanced command and control (C2) software for autonomous systems used in operational and tactical missions. You will build, integrate, and deploy full-stack solutions combining sensors, effectors, uncrewed vehicles (UxVs), and intelligent decision-making systems. These solutions will help users execute and manage mission profiles involving autonomous systems. You will work with experts in sensing, artificial intelligence, and systems engineering to deliver solutions for complex military and civilian missions.

Core Responsibilities

• Build, test, integrate, and deploy mission-critical full-stack software for command and control of multimodal autonomous systems.
• Integrate autonomy C2 solutions with the Palantir platform and AI and autonomy software, including sensor and data fusion services, agentic decision-making engines, and robotic control systems.
• Ensure robust functionality and performance across cloud, on-premises, and hybrid-cloud environments, addressing deployment, integration, security, and user experience challenges.
• Partner with multidisciplinary teams in sensing and fusion, artificial intelligence, systems engineering, user experience, hardware, and robotics to deliver integrated solutions.

What We Value

• Experience developing user-facing, full-stack software systems; experience building interfaces for graphical, textual, or verbal AI and generative models is a plus.
• Familiarity with software deployment, continuous integration (CI), streaming or real-time data, and front-end design principles.
• Ability to manage complexity, take initiative in problem-solving, and think critically under pressure.
• Experience deploying and maintaining production systems.

What We Require

• At least 2 years of professional software development experience.
• At least 2 years of experience integrating and deploying software to cloud, on-premises, or hybrid environments.
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, Rust, or Java.
• Experience with front-end frameworks such as React.
• Strong integration skills.
• Experience with software deployment, CI, and automation tools.
• Proficiency navigating APIs and documentation.
• Understanding of networking, security, and authentication principles.
• Experience with Linux/GNU environments.
• Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, or significant relevant work experience.
• Active U.S. security clearance, or eligibility and willingness to obtain one.
• Ability to travel 25–75%, varying by location and team.
• 2–6 years of front-end development experience, ideally with React and TypeScript.

Compensation and Benefits

• Salary: $135,000–$200,000
• Equity: Restricted stock units (RSUs)
