We are looking for an Accountant to support core financial operations for a contract-to-hire opportunity based in Hot Springs, Arkansas. This position will play an important role in maintaining accurate records, coordinating day-to-day accounting activity, and helping ensure timely month-end and routine financial processes. The ideal candidate brings strong experience across payables, receivables, reconciliations, and general ledger work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Process vendor invoices, review payment details for accuracy, and help ensure obligations are paid within established timelines.

• Record accounting activity in the general ledger and prepare journal entries that support complete and reliable financial reporting.

• Manage customer billing and incoming payments while maintaining accurate accounts receivable balances and follow-up records.

• Perform bank reconciliations regularly, investigate variances, and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.

• Assist with month-end close tasks by organizing supporting documentation and confirming account activity is properly recorded.

• Monitor financial transactions for completeness and accuracy, escalating unusual items or inconsistencies when needed.

• Maintain organized accounting records and provide documentation to support audits, reviews, and internal reporting needs.

• Hands-on accounting experience with responsibility for accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger activities.
• Demonstrated ability to prepare and post journal entries with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Experience completing bank reconciliations and researching transaction discrepancies effectively.
• Strong understanding of core accounting principles and standard financial recordkeeping practices.
• Proficiency using accounting systems and spreadsheet tools to manage and analyze financial data.
• Ability to prioritize multiple deadlines, stay organized, and work independently in a contract assignment setting.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills for working with internal stakeholders and financial documentation.
