About USACS Overview The North Alabama Emergency Medicine Fellowship provides a unique opportunity for primary care Physicians to become board certified in emergency medicine. The program is recognized by the American Academy of Emergency Physicians. Highlights: Clinical duties include 12-14 shifts per month in the ED. Fellows participate in didactic lecture series each Thursday, where they learn high-impact topics to prepare them for EM Boards and future careers as EM Physicians capable of working at any emergency room in the country. We supplement didactic lectures with longitudinal Board Prep throughout the year so you will succeed on exam day. Special topics courses are scattered throughout the fellowship as well, such as an ENT skills course, ortho and splinting course, dental emergency course, and multiple ultrasound courses to name a few.
