Our mission is ambitious and we can't do it alone - join Abacum as we build the future of Business Planning! The Growth Strategist Lead is the team's experimentation engine. Your job is to find the next unit of pipeline wherever it's hiding. That could be paid, SEO, AEO, partner-driven distribution, or channels nobody here has tried yet. The possibilities are endless and it's up to you to figure out which ones are worth pursuing and which ones are noise. You spin things up fast, measure honestly, then scale what works and kill what doesn't. People who've done this well tend to come from places where the feedback loop was short and the expectations were high - early-stage startups, ex-consultants, strategy roles that bled into execution, or careers where they had to build without a playbook. We're hiring for a specific way of thinking more than a specific background. This role requires someone with high agency and an extreme sense of ownership. If you build, test, and think from first principles, we want to talk. What you'll own
- Find the wedge: We already have a solid foundation and strong demand generation motion but now it's time to scale. Your job will be to figure out which channels, which content formats, which distribution motions actually produce predictable pipeline. You run that as a structured research problem, not a campaign calendar.
- Experiment, iterate and ship fast: Design and own an experimentation program where every test has a hypothesis, a measurement plan, and a logged result. Paid, SEO, AEO, content syndication, communities, partner distribution, programmatic...you decide where the opportunity is and you chase it aggressively. Scale what works, kill what doesn't, and build the infrastructure that makes the next experiment cheaper than the last.
- Operate AI-natively: Automate what used to take a team. Build the infrastructure oyu need to build a real demand engine. Clay for enrichment, n8n for workflows, AI in the loop wherever it replaces manual work. The expectation isn't that you use these tools, it's that you build systems with them. We are prepared to enable you with the tools you need to move fast and with intention.
- Own the number: Your experiments are instrumented from day one and you're the first to call one dead. No one is interpreting the data for you or making the call after you.
- Write the playbook: Your wins don't stay with you. What works becomes repeatable and the demand motion the rest of the team runs as well as the foundation the function is built on. When we find winning plays, scale them, hand them off to the team and start working on the next experiment.
- You're fast because you're structured, not because you're cutting corners. You can sit with ambiguity long enough to form a real point of view, then act on it decisively and with speed.
- Strong technical and analytical skills and fluency with data, with the ability to work with metrics and data to inform strategy, pressure-test assumptions, and translate findings into clear, actionable plans
- You're genuinely curious about how AI is reshaping the growth function you'd rather build for what's coming than defend what worked before.
- A bias to action and comfort with ambiguity. You don't wait for a brief; you proactively look for opportunities and build towards them.
