Sustaining Avionics & Electrical Engineer Sr

Overview Responsible for providing continuing engineering support forCirrus fleet of SR2X and SF50 aircraft. The primary focus of the A&ESustaining Engineer is to evaluate, and redesign components and systems basedon reliability, cost, weight or safety. Also, support resolving avionicsand electrical functional issues. Use analysis, bench and flight testing, alongwith good design practices to determine the root cause and verify solution.This must be done with compliance of the governing FAA regulations and Cirrusspecifications. The A&E Sustaining Engineer must be able to run mediumsized projects, coordinating easily with many other areas of the company and outsidevendors. Responsibilities Integration and testing of avionics and electrical systems and equipment, including:Requirements development and traceabilityResearch and identification of potential solutions to design objectivesDetail design and installationTest case development, execution, and troubleshooting on both bench and aircraftCoordinate design development and system integration within Cirrus and with subcontractorsGenerate high quality reports and test plans that will be used to meet FAR Part 23 requirementsInvestigate and troubleshoot software issues reports from field aircraft to resolutionSupport production and field team in addressing software issues on production and field aircraft .Investigate and troubleshoot electrical issues reports from field aircraftSupport production and service teams in addressing avionics and electrical issues on production and field aircraft.Support production and field service teams in addressing electrical issues on production and field aircraft. Apply pertinent sections of Federal Aviation Regulations Part 23.
