Coastal Cats & Critters is a nonprofit sanctuary on the Alabama coast providing lifelong care for senior, feral, and special‐needs cats. Our property includes both outdoor “yard cats” who live safely on‐site and our Legacy House, a home‐style environment for senior and medically fragile cats.

We are seeking a reliable, compassionate Cat Caregiver to work 2 days per week, supporting daily care routines for both indoor and outdoor cats.

Position Responsibilities

• Daily Cat Care — Feed cats, refresh water, scoop litter, and ensure all animals are accounted for.

• Outdoor Yard Cat Care — Maintain outdoor feeding stations, check shelters, and monitor the health and behavior of the outdoor colony.

This role includes working outdoors in heat, humidity, and varying weather conditions.

• Legacy House Care — Perform light cleaning, refresh bedding, sweep, wipe surfaces, and maintain a safe, sanitary environment for senior and special‐needs cats.

• Health & Behavior Observation — Identify and report changes in appetite, mobility, wounds, or unusual behavior.

• Enrichment & Socialization — Provide gentle interaction, enrichment activities, and emotional support to cats with varying comfort levels.

Qualifications

• Experience with animals preferred but not required; training provided.

• Ability to work independently and follow established routines.

• Comfortable with outdoor work in heat, humidity, and changing weather.

• Able to lift up to 30 lbs and perform physical tasks such as bending, carrying supplies, and walking the property.

• Dependable, punctual, and attentive to detail.

• Compassionate and patient with animals of all temperaments.
