Nurse Practitoner 2, Per Diem

Join our amazing team of Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners at UCSF Health, where you will serve patients directly within the Emergency Department and the inpatient setting! Responsibilities Function as appropriate to scope of practice, managing chronic stable medical conditions, routine care, acute or critical care, and medical/surgical procedures per approved standardized procedures. Identify and secure necessary privileges through APP and collaborating physician using the OMAG website during credentialing. Provide patient care with age‑group appropriateness; participate in mentoring new APPs. Take responsibility for standards of care, quality, and role development across UCSF Health locations. Be credentialed through OMAG and privileged through CIDP before first day; maintain compliance or risk LOA/suspension. Accountable to supervising physicians, Administrative Practice Manager, and peers via OPPE and performance review. Familiar with expected productivity metrics in clinical practice based on workflow phenotypes. Qualifications Graduation from a California Board of Registered Nursing‑approved or verified school with a Master’s in Nursing or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP). One year of clinical experience as an NP in same specialty and setting. Active Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) training within two months of hire. Preferred Qualifications Experience as Psychiatric NP in Emergency Medicine, urgent care, or crisis stabilization unit. License & Certifications California Registered Nurse (RN) License without restriction. California Certified Nurse Practitioner (NP) License without restriction. California Nurse Practitioner Furnishing Number including Schedule II furnishing privileges. National board certification relevant to patient population and clinical role (e.g., PMHNP‑BC). California Driver License if required. DEA Registration with schedules 2, 2N, 3, 3N, 4, 5 registered to California address. AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; no additional AHA certifications required. Salary and Benefits The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy. Placement within the salary range depends on experience, internal equity, and collective bargaining agreement for union positions.
