Endoscopy Technician (GI Lab) Plano, TX $38.50 per Hour 8-Week Assignment We are seeking an experienced Endoscopy Technician to support a busy GI Lab in Plano, TX. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled GI professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced procedural environment and plays a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care. Schedule Monday – Friday 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM Occasional 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM shifts ("Late Doctor Day") No weekends required! Position Overview Under clinical supervision, the Endoscopy Technician assists physicians and nurses with gastrointestinal procedures, prepares and maintains specialized equipment, monitors patients during procedures, and ensures all equipment is cleaned, disinfected, and sterilized according to established standards. This role also serves as a resource to other technicians by helping ensure quality, efficiency, and adherence to procedural protocols. Key Responsibilities Assist physicians and nurses during endoscopic and GI procedures Support procedures requiring sedation by assisting with scope placement and advancement under physician direction Monitor and document patient vital signs during procedures Assist with patient preparation, admission, and discharge processes Clean, disinfect, and sterilize endoscopes and related equipment according to infection control standards Maintain quality control standards for equipment processing and usage Prepare and transport specimens to the appropriate laboratory Assist with patient recovery monitoring and documentation Coordinate equipment maintenance and vendor servicing Order and maintain procedural supplies and inventory Support orientation and training of new technicians as needed Participate in emergency response situations, including CPR and resuscitation efforts when required Qualifications Required GI Technician experience minimum 1 year of Endoscopy Technician experience Knowledge of endoscopy procedures and equipment processing Strong understanding of infection prevention and sterilization practices Ability to monitor patient conditions and communicate changes effectively Excellent interpersonal and patient care skills #J-18808-Ljbffr
