Responsibilities:
- Process high-volume weekly payroll for a large hourly and tipped workforce across multiple legal entities and states.
- Lead, coach, and oversee the payroll team, setting priorities and holding the team accountable.
- Assess the current payroll department, build an improvement roadmap, and put controls in place.
- Manage tip pooling, tip reporting, and the reconciliation of tip distributions to payroll.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal wage and hour laws, including final pay deadlines, overtime, and garnishments.
- Oversee payroll tax administration and year-end W-2 processing.
- Partner with Finance on general ledger reconciliations and labor reporting.
- Work with location managers to ensure accurate and timely payroll submissions.
Requirements:
- 8+ years of progressive payroll experience, including managing a payroll function.
- Experience processing weekly, multi-entity, multi-state payroll for 600+ employees.
- Strong knowledge of wage and hour compliance, payroll tax administration, and year-end reporting.
- Advanced Excel skills, including reconciling large data sets.
- A self-starter who can assess a department, set priorities, and drive improvements independently.
- Restaurant, hospitality, or tipped workforce payroll experience is a plus.
- Hands-on iSolved experience is a plus.
