What You'll Do

You will play a key leadership role in maintaining and improving clinical excellence:

• Infection Prevention & Safety: Develop and implement strategies to reduce Healthcare-Associated Infections (HAIs)
• Education: Train and support staff on infection control best practices and updated guidelines
• Quality Improvement: Analyze clinical data to enhance patient safety and operational performance
• Regulatory Compliance: Stay current with infection control standards, trends, and regulatory requirements

What You Bring

• Active RN license required
• Associate degree required (BSN preferred)
• 5+ years of experience in an Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) Infection Control & Quality Specialist role preferred
• Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments

SUMMARY


The ASC Infection Control and Quality Specialist, RN assists the Director with collecting data and other necessary information to maintain accuracy of the program. The ASC Infection Control and Quality Specialist, RN functions as an integral partner to assist in maintaining the policies and procedures.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION/COMPETENCIES


Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Development and implementation of evidence-based interventions designed to reduce and eliminate the risk for Healthcare Associated Infections (HAIs) and/or disease transmission.
• Develops and conducts the ASCs Infection Control/Prevention Program Planning addressing risks for the acquisition and transmission of infectious agents and establishing priorities/setting goals and strategies accordingly including but not limited to auditing and data collection.
• Completes Infection Control needs assessment, development, presentations, and evaluation of educational sessions relating to topics including infection prevention & control, emerging infectious diseases, new initiatives, and regulatory affairs.
• Assist with Quality assurance and process improvement initiatives.
• Assist with providing and monitoring in-services on new equipment/procedures to staff.
• To provide assistance and maintain knowledge in Infection Control, Quality and risk assessment.
• Performs other position related duties as assigned.
• Employees shall adhere to high standards of ethical conduct and will comply with and assist in complying with all applicable laws and regulations. This will include and not be limited to following the Solaris Health Code of Conduct and all Solaris Health and Affiliated Practice policies and procedures; maintaining the confidentiality of patients' protected health information in compliance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA); immediately reporting any suspected concerns and/or violations to a supervisor and/or the Compliance Department; and the timely completion the Annual Compliance Training.

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSURES OR REGISTRY REQUIREMENTS

• RN license and certification as required by state.
• Continued education / webinars on infection control and Quality annually.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

• Associate's degree required; Graduate of accredited nursing program.
• BSRN preferred.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

• 3+ years as an ambulatory surgical RN.

REQUIRED TRAVEL

• Travel between surgical centers (If applicable) 20-30%.
