Press Brake Operator – Precision Sheet Metal

Location: Stafford, TX
Job Type: Full-Time
Pay: $23-26/Hr. (DOE)

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Press Brake Operator to join our precision sheet metal fabrication team. The ideal candidate will have experience setting up and operating CNC press brakes to bend and form sheet metal components according to engineering drawings and customer specifications. This position requires a strong attention to detail, the ability to maintain tight tolerances, and a commitment to producing high-quality parts in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities:

• Set up and operate CNC press brake machines to form precision sheet metal parts.
• Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work orders.
• Select proper tooling and perform machine setups for various material types and thicknesses.
• Verify dimensions using calipers, tape measures, protractors, angle gauges, and other precision measuring instruments.
• Perform first-piece, in-process, and final inspections to ensure quality standards are met.
• Adjust machine settings to maintain accuracy and tight tolerances.
• Identify material defects and report quality concerns to supervisors.
• Safely handle raw materials and finished products.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Perform routine machine maintenance and assist with troubleshooting as needed.
• Work closely with fabrication, welding, and quality control teams to meet production schedules.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years of CNC press brake experience in a precision sheet metal environment.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and fabrication drawings.
• Experience with precision measuring equipment.
• Knowledge of bend deductions, bend allowances, and material properties is preferred.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
• Dependable with a strong work ethic and commitment to safety.
• Forklift and overhead crane experience is a plus.
