Overview

A growing, multi-site industrial manufacturing organization is seeking a Vice President of Human Resources to lead the continued development of its HR function across North American operations.

This is a highly visible leadership role for someone who wants to shape culture, strengthen leadership, and create an employee experience that makes people want to join, grow, and stay with the organization.

The VP of HR will partner closely with executive and plant leadership to implement HR best practices across the business, with particular emphasis on onboarding, training, leadership development, employee engagement, and organizational effectiveness.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on, forward-thinking HR leader who is energized by positive change. This person will have the opportunity to assess what exists today, identify opportunities for improvement, develop the existing HR team, and build programs and processes that support both employees and continued business growth.

Responsibilities

• Lead the HR strategy across multiple locations and establish consistent policies, practices, and standards across the organization.
• Build and continuously improve the employee experience from onboarding through development, advancement, and retention.
• Develop structured onboarding and training programs that help employees become productive, engaged members of the organization.
• Create leadership development programs that strengthen current managers and build the next generation of leaders.
• Coach and develop the existing HR team while building greater consistency and collaboration across locations.
• Partner with executive and plant leadership on organizational development, workforce planning, succession planning, and talent strategy.
• Lead employee engagement and retention initiatives focused on creating a positive, high-performing workplace.
• Serve as a senior resource for employee relations, investigations, conflict resolution, corrective action, and management guidance.
• Strengthen performance management, feedback, accountability, and employee development processes.
• Provide leadership and oversight across recruiting, onboarding, payroll, benefits, workers compensation, leave administration, compliance, and HR operations.
• Develop HR metrics and reporting that provide leadership with meaningful insight into turnover, retention, engagement, workforce trends, and organizational health.
• Ensure compliance with applicable employment laws and HR requirements.
• Partner with operations and safety leadership on workers compensation, return-to-work programs, and related workforce matters.
• Evaluate and improve HR systems, workflows, documentation, and organizational processes.
• Lead change initiatives that improve the employee experience and support the company's continued growth.
• Remain connected to employees and plant operations while operating as a strategic member of the senior leadership team.

Experience Required

• Progressive HR leadership experience within industrial manufacturing or another operational, hourly workforce environment.
• Experience leading HR across multiple facilities, business units, or operating groups.
• Demonstrated success developing and implementing HR programs, policies, processes, and organizational infrastructure.
• Experience building or improving onboarding, training, employee engagement, and leadership development programs.
• Proven ability to lead organizational change and gain adoption across multiple levels of an organization.
• Experience coaching leaders and developing HR professionals.
• Strong employee relations and investigations experience.
• Broad working knowledge of recruiting, payroll, benefits, workers compensation, leave administration, compliance, and HR operations.
• Ability to operate effectively at both the executive and hands-on levels.
• Strong business judgment, communication, influence, and organizational skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field preferred.
• SHRM, HRCI, or comparable HR certification preferred.
• Industrial manufacturing experience strongly preferred.

Location and Travel

This is an on-site executive leadership position based in Phoenix, Arizona.
