Happy Solar is hiring Field Marketing Agents (solar appointment setters) for our Rochester team. No previous solar or sales experience is required. We provide paid training, ongoing coaching, and opportunities to grow into a Solar Sales Consultant role. What you'll actually do This is a door-to-door position. You'll spend most of your shift walking assigned residential neighborhoods, knocking on doors, and having short conversations with homeowners. Your goal is to introduce Happy Solar, identify interested homeowners, and schedule in-home consultations with our solar consultants. The consultant handles the detailed solar presentation. You'll hear "no" regularly. Success comes from staying professional, learning from feedback, and being ready for the next conversation. Pay and training During your first month of training: $250 per week in training pay, plus commissions. A $500 bonus when you complete training and meet the required completed-consultation ("demo") goal. After training: Performance-based earning potential of $60,000–$90,000 per year. Commission-based compensation and monthly performance bonus opportunities. Actual earnings vary with results; the earnings range is not a guaranteed salary. Knock doors in assigned Rochester-area neighborhoods. Explain solar and available incentives in clear, straightforward language. Schedule appointments with interested homeowners and accurately record their information. Track conversations and appointments in our door-knocking app. Attend a short daily team meeting and ongoing training with our Rochester manager. Work toward weekly appointment goals and apply coaching to improve your results. What we're looking for Willingness to start conversations with people you haven't met. The ability to handle rejection respectfully and keep working toward a goal. Reliability, punctuality, and a willingness to learn. Availability for daytime and evening shifts. A valid driver's license and reliable transportation to assigned neighborhoods across the Rochester area. Ability to walk and stand outdoors for 4+ hours per shift, including in cold winter conditions, with or without reasonable accommodation. Age 18 or older. Experience in customer service, retail, hospitality, canvassing, or sales can be helpful, but it is not required. Why Happy Solar?
