Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant OTA

Litchford Falls Health & Rehabilitation Center in Raleigh, NC is seeking a qualified candidate to join our team as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA).

What You'll Do

• Provide skilled occupational therapy services to residents under the supervision and direction of a licensed Occupational Therapist (OT).
• Implement individualized treatment plans developed by the supervising OT to help residents achieve their rehabilitation goals.
• Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including dressing, bathing, grooming, feeding, and toileting.
• Administer therapeutic activities, exercises, and modalities to improve fine motor skills, upper extremity function, coordination, and strength.
• Train residents on the use of adaptive equipment, assistive devices, and compensatory techniques to promote independence.
• Explains procedures and treatments to gain residents' cooperation and allay apprehension.
• Monitor resident progress and communicate observations and treatment outcomes to the supervising OT.
• Maintains residents' medical records with thorough documentation of treatments provided, progress notes, and response to therapy.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure continuity of care and successful achievement of rehabilitation goals.
• Educate residents and their families on therapeutic techniques, safety precautions, and strategies to maintain progress after discharge.
• Observes emotional stability of residents, expresses interest in their progress, and prepares them for continuing care after discharge.
• Perform other duties as required to provide exceptional care to each resident.

What You Need

• Active unencumbered licensure or certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) in North Carolina.
• Associate's degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
• NBCOT certification preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Highly organized and detail oriented.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
