General Foreman

Foreman - Solar

We are seeking several Foreman level candidates to lead field operations on utility-scale solar construction projects. In this role, you'll oversee daily crew activities, coordinate with Superintendents, and ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and to quality standards. This is a hands-on leadership position for someone with strong solar construction experience and the ability to manage multiple crews on active job sites in the Peoria, IL area. Responsibilities

• Lead and direct daily activities for electrical, mechanical, and civil construction crews
• Coordinate with Superintendents to execute project schedules and daily work plans
• Assign work, manage labor resources, and ensure crews stay productive and on schedule
• Monitor workmanship and address quality issues or rework requirements
• Communicate project progress, manpower needs, and jobsite challenges
• Coordinate union labor crews and subcontractors to meet project goals
• Enforce OSHA, NFPA 70E, and site-specific safety requirements
• Adjust crew priorities and work plans to maintain project timelines
• Support operations across multiple project locations as needed

Skills

• Previous experience as a Foreman or General Foreman on utility-scale or commercial solar projects
• Experience supervising electrical and/or mechanical installation work
• Construction leadership experience with the ability to manage multiple crews
• Experience working with subcontractors and union labor
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction site safety practices
• Experience working with EPC contractors or renewable energy developers
• Familiarity with NFPA 70E electrical safety standards
• Experience supporting project scheduling and manpower planning
• Comfortable working in outdoor construction environments year-round
• Ability to read project plans, understand schedules, and execute daily work objectives
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills

Work Environment

• Outdoor utility-scale solar construction sites throughout Illinois, including Pekin, Princeville, and Galesburg
• Typical schedule: Monday-Friday, 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM (hours may vary based on project needs)
• Work closely with union crews, subcontractors, and project leadership
• Combination of field supervision and occasional administrative duties in site trailers
• Must be comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions and active construction environments

Job Type & Location: This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Peoria, IL.

Pay and Benefits: The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $33.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
