About the Position

We are seeking a skilled Cardiothoracic Surgery Nurse Practitioner for a 49-day assignment in Kentucky, commencing Nov 26, 2023. This role involves Monday to Friday day and night call shifts, complemented by 24-hour weekend shifts. The successful candidate will perform first assisting duties in complex cardiothoracic surgeries, including CABG, AVR, MVR, and thoracotomy/lung resection cases, while also managing OR, telemetry, ICU, and inpatient duties. Responsibilities and Duties

• Perform surgical CT procedures, vein harvest, and chest tube placement.
• First assist in complex cardiothoracic surgeries, including CABG, AVR, MVR, and thoracotomy/lung resection cases.
• Manage operating room, telemetry, and intensive care unit duties.
• Conduct inpatient rounds, procedures, and surgical responsibilities during weekend shifts.

• Required Board Certifications: Cardiothoracic Surgery
• Other Required Certifications: Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA)
• EMR: Epic
• Setting: Inpatient
• Call Schedule: Out of house call
• Patients per day: 1-2 surgeries daily, with a fairly low overall volume
• LOA: 49 Days
